4th of July, National Independent Brewers Day

To celebrate the launch of our National Economic Review we created National Independent Brewers Day on the 4th of July, 2017. The concept behind the day was to celebrate the economic and social contribution that independent brewers make in Australia. The day garnered fantastic coverage in the mainstream press including the front page of Australian Financial Review and page 3 of the Herald-Sun.

Off the back of the day our Executive Officer Chris McNamara took the opportunity to discuss the industry’s contributions with a number of influential Federal politicians.

The next step in our advocacy campaign will be to make a Budget submission outlining why the independent brewing industry deserves the same level of support as the wine industry and how that support will benefit the Federal government. This will submission will be backed up by modeling done for us by Essential Economics, the same firm that wrote our National Economic Evaluation.
